  • a business development idea that requires more formal testing, perhaps with a business plan or feasibility study
  • a review of governance arrangements for external assurance purposes or in preparation for an inspection

We also build long term client relationships to help you along your development journey. This could be:

  • a development plan for improving things over a period of months, or even years.
  • building a successful local partnership that overcomes organisational differences
  • working with your board or management team on their development individually and as a team
  • succession planning for your next cadre of board-level leaders

Recent assignments include:

  • re-writing the model constitution for CCGs on behalf of NHS England
  • helping 5 CCGs to design slimmed-down governance arrangements for working together at scale whilst retaining a local focus
  • helping a CCG to work with their members and the public to develop a vision for general practice
  • Training CCG governing body members on managing conflicts of interest
  • A review of direct commissioning governance for NHS England
  • training for NHS England’s regional staff on governance and constitutions
  • undertaking an investigation into reports of a bullying culture in an A&E department

We also work with charities and arts organisations:

  • we helped a theatre describe its strategy and plan for an application to the Arts Council
  • we undertook a governance review in a small charity and then provided a training day forĀ board members
  • we designed and facilitated an annual away day for a theatre trustee board
